"In the absence of certainty, one
    must have courage.  Courage
    requires overcoming our fear of
the unknown...   We are afraid of
    letting go that chaos requires,
because we believe our world will
fall apart without our strict control.

And yet the new science of chaos
theory tells us there is an
    underlying order to the universe
that does NOT require our control,
    and understanding that chaos can
be a gateway to quantum leaps in
    improvement."

    --- Daniel H. Kim
    ""All this systems thinking stuff
    has no meaning without
    understanding that we're part of
    something larger than ourselves
    (the self)...We've depleted the
    earth and we're fragmenting our
spirit. We live under a massive
    illusion of separation from one
    another, from nature, from the
    universe, from everything.  It's
    the great liability we have
    inherited from the Industrial
    Revolution back through
    Reformation...The human species
is profoundly out of balance. If our
work has an impact, it will bring
us back into the natural order of
    things."

Welcome

Welcome to LOPN (Learning Organization Practitioners' Network) Singapore! Modelled on SoL Global, the network
is inspired by the works spreading in the region to create
Learning Organizations which are based on the works
as espoused by
Peter Senge in his book, the The Fifth Discipline, The Art and Practice of the Learning
Organization.

The network opened in September 2002 to offer
resources and a platform for communities in public, private and
non-profit sectors learning to seamlessly integrate the core
five disciplines of Learning Organization in everyday
leadership and management practices.

What we do:
Support the building of the five disciplines of Learning Organization through core competency and practice
workshops, case-studies and application works to help you learn to lead this work from wherever you are.
Leaderships then are guided in turning around existing organizations into learning organizations;

Create a supportive network of practitioners, facilitators of the work and novices in Singapore and the
region in Asia through our
Practice Sessions, Practitioners' Forums and eForums;

Provide a platform where multiple sectors may seek to work jointly at local, regional and global levels on
sustainability, corporate, social and environmental issues and projects.

My time from early 2008 was spent here with the Government of Botswana on a long-term project (to-
date of which over 16 months of work has been done with both central and local governments).  It has
been an exciting journey seeing and learning what affects the systemic connectedness and growth /
    interrelatedness of a country.

For those who would like assistance on introduction to the works of Learning Organization, click here to
reach a practitioner or consultant near you (in Asia).  I keep the lessons I am learning at my blog here
and have an international online discussion group at LinkedIn here.  Feel free to join us soon as you can.
