Welcome to LOPN NewsFlash, February 2006

EVENT OF THE MONTH:

We are proud that in 2006, AFN / FNS, LOPN and ODG (SIM) have come together to jointly
present:

CAFE ASIA: ABC’S OF SPEAKING AND LEARNING FROM THE HEART
A co-creative inquiry into the foundations of transformation
Date:       March 1, 2006 (Wed)
Time:       9am-5pm
Venue:    Raffles Campus

We are calling all who are on the path of learning and transformation within organizations and
communities in Singapore and the region!!  We hope that you can be part of this event.

An Invitation
You are invited to an exciting one day gathering to collectively explore and discover what it takes for
each of us to be and create the change we want to see around us.  The café will be guided by the
themes of authenticity, beingness and co-creation and so, the ABCs of speaking and learning from the
Heart!

What You Can Expect?
We will inquire more deeply into the questions and challenges we are facing, and look into how we can
be more effective as a community of practitioners and change agents.  Though not limited to these
questions, it could include the following:
What is AUTHENTICITY?  Tell a story when you felt that
authenticity was powerful in the room, and that it made significant difference to the outcome of
the conversation or activity.  How can I and all of us be as authentic to each other as we want to
be?  What would you ‘
BE’, if you were not so busy being a change agent or fixing the world?  How do
you control without controlling?  What is
CO-CREATION?  How does it happen?  How do we create
a future when we don’t know what it looks like?  Managers run through three to six different
strategies, without once examining why a strategy seems to be failing, except to ask “What’s the
next one?”

Do note that the ABC structure will be used as a launching pad for the conversation rather than an end
point. Also it is not a session on sharing of tools and techniques yet tools such as World Café and other
techniques will be used to facilitate the conversations.

What To Prepare?
This is both a personal and collective learning experience, allowing each of us to bring our unique
richness, curiosity and creativeness to the group.  Please bring a question that is close to your heart
that you would like to engage others at a deeper level in a group setting.
