Richard W. Smith is a depth-educator and organizational development specialist.

Richard is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and has a graduate degree in
Family Therapy from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana.  For the
past 37 years he has been helping individuals, teams, and organizations develop
more fully.  He has facilitated more than 925 seminars, workshops and learning
sessions and has spent more than 45,000 hours working with organizations.  Richard
works with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations of all types and sizes.

His work includes, but is not limited to: Leadership Development & Renewal (Executives, Managers, and Supervisors),
Stress Management, Manager/ Executive Coaching, Building High Performing Teams, Board Development, Renewals for
Professionals (Educators, Nurses, Clergy, Physicians) & Organization Development/Re-Structuring.  In addition to
working within the 50 United States, Richard has provided services to people in 7 other countries.  He has also co-written
and co-developed two graduate degree programs.  Most recently, he has helped develop 8 Leadership
Centers/Institutes – four of these are outside of the United States (England, Holland, Australia, Singapore).  Currently,
Richard is an adjunct faculty member and/or associate of the following: The Center for Creative Leadership
(Greensboro, NC), The Expanded Learning Institute (Carmel, CA), the Physician Leadership Academy – University of St.
Thomas (St. Paul, MN).  He is also a member of the Advisory Board of Creative Leaps International (Putnam Valley, NY),
a member of the Board of Directors, Wolf Technical Services (Indianapolis, IN), a member of the Board of Management,
The Eye Center Group, LLC (Muncie, IN), and a co-founder of the Center for Healing the Executive Spirit (Cincinnati, OH).
In 1975, Richard was introduced to Robert K. Greenleaf’s concepts of the Servant as Leader and he has been studying,
applying and living these concepts ever since.  During the past 26 years he has helped a number of organizations adopt
the servant-as-leader concepts.  In addition to his providing consultation and coaching to organizations, Richard designs
& facilitates retreats/renewals, learning sessions, develops and delivers special programs, delivers keynote addresses,
facilitates Reading & Dialogue groups, and writes.

  • Co-designed a year-long Teacher Renewal process for the Ministry of Education, Singapore –   which is available
    to  the teachers in Singapore; Help developed 70 people in Singapore to guide this year-long process.

    College/University levels.
